Charles Loloma was a Hopi artist internationally known for his master stone work. He was born in 1921 on 3rd mesa on the Hopi Reservation, and died in 1991. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said "what I'd like to be known for is beauty". Significantly, his name translated from the Hopi language is "beauty". His work can be found in numerous museums and high profile collections around the world.
