Antique silver and glass trade beads with Zuni thunderbird. The thunderbird is made with jet, mother of pearl, turquoise, and spiny oyster shell (spondylus). These red beads are called whitehearts, due to their white center and were heavily traded to Native Americans in the 18th and 19th centuries.
This necklace is 26" long and fits over the head.
