Navajo First Phase Revival Concho Belt w 10 Conchos

$2,500.00

Classic simplicity! This first phase revival belt made with central cut-out loops for the leather to slide through, is how Navajo silversmiths made the first concho belts. This one, made c. 1940 keeps true to the originals made in the late 1800s, with minimal stamping around the circumference and in each scalloped edge. Size is adjustable, and can be anywhere from 36 to 42, depending on where conchos are placed, they slide along leather strap and there are sufficient holes to accommodate several sizes. Also, if a concho or two were removed it could be made to be a smaller size. This belt is very similar to the concho belt made famous by Jim Morrison, of The Doors, which he rocked with his leather pants!
Actual length of leather: 49"
Each concho measure 3 1/4" x 2 1/2".
