-The word Jacla in Navajo means "ear string" and is made up of turquoise “heishi”, they have been worn by Native people as far back as the Anasazi or Ancestral Puebloans.
-The word "Heishi" is a bead made by North American Natives, of disk-shaped shells, turquoise, or coral.
